Pelosi Statement on Congressman Tom O’Halleran

Washington, D.C. – Speaker Nancy Pelosi issued this statement on the election result in Arizona's 2nd Congressional District:

"Congressman Tom O'Halleran has earned a well-deserved reputation for making difficult, values-based decisions, even in the face of daunting political consequences. His courage and commitment have won the respect of Members on both sides of the aisle, and his leadership will be missed by his colleagues in the Congress.

"Proudly serving as a police officer and then succeeding in the private sector, Congressman O'Halleran has brought a wealth of valuable experience to the Congress and the country. As a respected leader on the Energy and Commerce and the Agriculture Committees, he has served as a relentless voice for Arizona communities: whether fighting to expand rural broadband, improve water conservation or invest in Arizona farmers. This fall, our Majority drew on his expertise in law enforcement, as he helped craft Democrats' strong public safety legislation.
