Statement in Support of Net Neutrality CRA Resolution
"December's radical FCC vote to dismantle net neutrality has endangered the American entrepreneurship and freedom that are the envy of the world. Congress must act to reverse this destructive FCC ruling that steamrolled over a bipartisan, decades-long consensus and the will of the American people to undermine the fair playing field that is the heart of the internet. With Congressman Mike Doyle's vital resolution to stop the FCC's assault on net neutrality, House Democrats are working to prevent higher costs and fewer choices for American consumers.
"Americans are fighting on all fronts against the Trump Administration's anti-consumer, anti-competition agenda. This week, 21 state attorneys general filed suit against the FCC, joining consumer advocates, Internet users, small businesses and entrepreneurs. House Democrats urge Republicans to join us to fight to ensure that this resolution receives a vote on the House floor. Congress must respond to the will of the American people and restore these fundamental consumer protections.
"While Republicans fall over themselves to hand massive giveaways to big corporate providers, Democrats are fighting to safeguard access to a free, open Internet and to expand broadband deployment throughout the country. We are committed to offering Americans A Better Deal for rural broadband, with real solutions to bring the power of the Internet into the homes of families and small businesses in unserved or underserved communities.
