Pelosi Statement on Apparent Terrorist Attack in Berlin

San Francisco – Democratic Leader Nancy Pelosi today released this statement following an apparent terrorist attack that killed 9 people and injured dozens of others at a Christmas market in Berlin, Germany:
"The holiday season is a time for people of many faiths, in countries around the world, to come together to celebrate our blessings. Following a horrific attack at a Christmas market in Berlin today, families are now mourning the loss of their loved ones. Tonight, our thoughts and prayers are with the victims, the survivors, and the people of Germany.
"Acts of terrorism demand both global condemnation and a strong and smart comprehensive strategy. Together with our allies, America remains committed to creating a stronger, more peaceful world.
"During this difficult hour, the American people stand united with the people of Germany. May all those affected by this tragedy receive the support they need during this difficult time."
