Pelosi, Cleaver Announce Friendly Wager on 49ers-Chiefs Super Bowl

Washington, D.C. – Speaker Nancy Pelosi and Congressman Emanuel Cleaver (D-MO) announced the details of a friendly wager over Super Bowl LIV between the San Francisco 49ers and the Kansas City Chiefs. The Speaker has wagered a selection of California delicacies, including See's Candies, Ghirardelli Chocolate, almonds and pistachios, while Congressman Cleaver has put a platter of Kansas City BBQ on the line.

"While I always welcome the chance to share some of California and the Bay Area's outstanding delicacies with my colleagues, Congressman Cleaver will just have to visit our beautiful city to get his hands on them," said Speaker Nancy Pelosi. "The Chiefs are an outstanding team, but nothing matches the spirit, talent and heart that our incredible San Francisco 49ers bring to the field every game. The only thing that I'll savor more than Kansas City's famous BBQ is watching the 49ers become Super Bowl Champions!"

"The 49ers have proven to be an exceptional team this season, but they haven't faced Patrick Mahomes, the Legion of Zoom, or the gritty Kansas City defense," said Congressman Cleaver.
