Pelosi Statement on the Retirement Announcement of Rep. Robert Brady

Washington, D.C. – Democratic Leader Nancy Pelosi released the following statement after the announcement that Committee on House Administration Ranking Member, Robert Brady, would be retiring at the end of his term:

"For 20 years, Congressman Robert Brady has been a forceful champion for working people in Pennsylvania and across the nation.  Throughout his long, dedicated career, Congressman Brady served his constituents with courage and a relentless determination to ensure every person's concerns are heard, no matter how small.

"In Congress, Congressman Brady committed himself to ensuring a bright, prosperous future for all families and became an unwavering advocate for legislation to lift up hard-working Americans by promoting affordable housing, quality health care and access to life-saving prescription drugs.  As Ranking Member on the Committee on House Administration, Congressman Brady has provided a powerful voice on critical oversight issues, including ensuring our federal elections are free, fair and transparent.

"My colleagues and I will always consider Congressman Brady to be our beloved ‘Mayor of Capitol Hill' and will miss his steadfast leadership and his friendship.  We wish him and his family the best as he begins this new chapter of his journey."
