Pelosi Announces Appointments to Energy & Commerce Committee

Washington, D.C. – Democratic Leader Nancy Pelosi announced today that the House Democratic Steering Committee has recommended to the Democratic Caucus that the following three Members be appointed to the House Energy & Commerce Committee.

The new Committee Members are:

• Congressman Raul Ruiz of California
• Congresswoman Debbie Dingell of Michigan
• Congressman Scott Peters of California

"In this symbolic first week of the new Congress, Republicans are doing everything they can to ensure the special interests overrule the public interest in the new Administration," said Leader Pelosi.  "In their new roles on the Energy & Commerce Committee, Congresswoman Dingell, Congressman Ruiz and Congressman Peters will help lead the fight against Republicans' efforts to stack the deck against hard-working families, as House Democrats work to raise wages and create more good-paying jobs across the nation."

The full Democratic Caucus is expected to consider these nominations next week.
