Pelosi Announces Appointments to Ways & Means Committee

Washington, D.C. – Democratic Leader Nancy Pelosi announced today that the House Democratic Steering Committee has recommended to the Democratic Caucus that the following three Members be appointed to the House Ways & Means Committee.

The new Committee Members are:

  • Congressman Brian Higgins of New York

  • Congresswoman Terri Sewell of Alabama

  • Congresswoman Suzan DelBene of Washington

"As Republicans plot to destroy the Medicare guarantee while handing tax-giveaways to millionaires, Democrats are standing strong for hard-working families," said Leader Pelosi.  "Under the leadership of Ranking Member Richie Neal, the new Members recommended for the Ways & Means Committee will help shine a stark light on the destructive reality of Republicans' special interest agenda."

The full Democratic Caucus is expected to consider these nominations next week.
