Pelosi Statement on Anti-Semitism & Bomb Threats to Jewish Community Centers

February 21, 2017
San Francisco – Democratic Leader Nancy Pelosi released the following statement on the surge of bomb threats to Jewish Community Centers across the nation, and a rise in anti-Semitic acts, including the desecration of a Jewish cemetery in St. Louis:

"Anti-Semitism must be called out and confronted whenever it is encountered, without exception.  A long-overdue statement by the President condemning anti-Semitism, after an entire campaign spent fanning the flames of bigotry, is not nearly enough.

"The rise in anti-Semitic acts demands an overwhelming response.  The Administration must come forward with a comprehensive strategy to combat anti-Semitism and hunt down those who make bomb threats to Jewish Community Centers, desecrate cemeteries and commit other hate crimes.

"The warning of history is too clear to allow complacency in the face of hate.  The Trump Administration must be fully engaged in confronting anti-Semitism and all other forms of prejudice and hatred."
