Pelosi Statement on Delegation Visit to House of Commons, Meeting with Speaker Lindsay Hoyle

London — Speaker Nancy Pelosi issued the following statement after the Congressional delegation visited the British House of Commons and met with Speaker Lindsay Hoyle:

"Today, our Congressional delegation had the great privilege of visiting the British House of Commons, which shares historic, strong and enduring ties to the United States House of Representatives. We thank Speaker Lindsay Hoyle for his official welcome to our delegation. His hospitality included an official lunch and welcome to the Chamber of the House of Commons.

"When I signed the chamber's guest book, I paid tribute to the strong bond between the House of Representatives and the House of Commons. America takes great pride in our commitment to the long-standing special relationship between our nations. In our meeting with Speaker Hoyle, we discussed the perilous situation in Ukraine and how we can continue our work together to strengthen the transatlantic alliance as we advance our mutual security, common economic interests and shared democratic values.
