In San Francisco, the funding package includes tens of millions of additional dollars for the rescanning and retesting of Hunters Point, as well as bold investments in job-creating infrastructure for initiatives for the Embarcadero Seawall seismic and flood protection upgrade.

Keeping Bayview-Hunters Point Community Safe with Tens of Millions of Additional Dollars for Hunters Point Cleanup:
- $60.4 million increase over the President's Budget request for former Naval base cleanup designated for rescanning and retesting needs at Hunters Point Naval Shipyard
Achieving Highest Level of Funding in Housing Opportunities for Persons With AIDS (HOPWA)'s History:
- $18 million increase over last year's levels, and $63 million above the President's budget request
- Increased funds will help protect legacy cities like San Francisco from funding cuts due to recent formula changes
Rebuilding Our Infrastructure and Creating Good-Paying Jobs with Robust Increases in Transit New Start Grants:
- Funded at $2.6 billion, an increase of $1.6 billion above the President's budget request
- Funds all Funding Grant Agreements, and includes critical language requiring the Federal Transit Administration to continue work on projects in the development pipeline such as BART's Transbay Corridor Core Capacity project
Combating Homelessness with Strong Funding for Permanent Supportive Housing and Rapid Rehousing:
- Funded at $123 million over last year's levels and $253 million above the President's budget request
- The FY19 funding builds on the FY18 funding level, where San Francisco secured nearly $44.5 million, an increase of $3 million over the FY17 funding for San Francisco
Saving Local Jobs By Ensuring National Park Service Office Remains in SF:
- Prevent the National Park Service from moving the Pacific West Regional Office from its current location in San Francisco
- Pacific West Regional Office houses approximately 150 federal workers who oversee 60 parks in eight states
Protecting our Communities with Continued Funding to Embarcadero Seawall Upgrades:
- Army Corps of Engineers civil works projects were funded $171.5 million above last year's levels, and $2.2 billion above the President's budget request
- $200,000 in congressionally provided funds to continue studying significant future federal support for the Embarcadero Seawall seismic and flood protection upgrade
Providing Relief for Communities Impacted by Devastating Wildfires:
- Achieves a cost-share waiver for the federal government to cover at least 90% of wildfire debris removal, rather than the usual 75%
Promoting the Health of our Families with Increased Funding for Life-Saving Research:
- $2 billion boost for biomedical research at the National Institutes of the Health (NIH), $4.4 billion to respond to the opioid crisis, and $200 million in additional funding to Community Health Centers above last year's funding level
- UC San Francisco was the top public institution recipient of NIH funds for the 12th year in a row
Securing Robust Census Funding to Ensure a Fair and Accurate Count for All San Franciscans:
- Investing $3.8 billion in the Census, an increase of $1 billion from FY18 budget
Protecting Key Funding for AIDS Research and Treatment Initiatives:
- Preserved Ryan White funding, despite the President's budget proposing to eliminate AIDS Education and Training Centers (AETC) and Special Projects of National Significance (SPNS), which would have disproportionately harmed San Francisco
- Deep cuts proposed to the Global Fund and PEPFAR were defeated, and PEPFAR received a $50 million increase
