‘By Definition A Lie’: Journalists Call Out McCarthy’s Falsehood About QAnon

Blog Post

Less than one month after QAnon supporters led an armed insurrection at the U.S. Capitol, and hours after House Republicans agreed not to sanction QAnon adherent Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene, Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy (Q-CA) told reporters he didn't know what QAnon was.

Given McCarthy's previous comments on QAnon (dating back to last summer), House Republicans' standing ovation for Greene, and QAnon's infiltration of his caucus, journalists were quick to call out his falsehood.

McCarthy's failure to lead his party – and House Republicans refusal to reject QAnon adherents - has effectively handed the keys over to Greene – an anti-Semite, QAnon adherent and 9/11 Truther. McCarthy doesn't get to hide from that fact.

Here's a sampling of the reaction to McCarthy's comments
