February 7, 2017
Washington, D.C. – Democratic Leader Nancy Pelosi announced that the House Democratic Steering & Policy Committee has recommended to the Democratic Caucus that Congressman Brad Schneider of Illinois be appointed to serve on the House Judiciary Committee. The Democratic Caucus has approved the appointment this morning.
"Congressman Brad Schneider has the values and vision needed to ensure the People's House honors the Constitution and protects the civil liberties of every citizen," said House Democratic Leader Nancy Pelosi. "As a Member of the Judiciary Committee, Congressman Schneider will stand firm in the face of Republicans' schemes to dismantle health care, dishonor our nation's highest values, target immigrant families, and chip away at the sacred right to vote. In the face of tough challenges, including confronting the gun violence epidemic, Congressman Schneider will stand firm. Congressman Schneider will continue to be a devoted champion of equal justice for all Americans, not just the privileged few."
