30-Something Democrats Reintroduce the Rubber Stamp
October 19, 2007
After House Republicans stood with President Bush to sustain his veto of children's health care, the Democrats of the "30 Something" Working Group took to the floor to reintroduce the "rubber stamp" which had gone into retirement in January:
| Rep. Kentrick Meek (FL-17): "I'm glad this rubber stamp's down here because i spent a lot of time here on the floor with many of my colleagues -- I think this stamp here one day will be promptly placed somewhere in a glass case, because this is what used to be... rubber stamp, it's going to happen, so shall it be written, so shall it be done. Those days are over, but now it's in a new form..." |
