March 12, 2021

Washington, D.C. – Speaker Nancy Pelosi issued this statement on the retirement of Congresswoman Ann Kirkpatrick of Arizona:

"In Congresswoman Ann Kirkpatrick, the people of Southern Arizona have had a strong champion for their interests and needs in the Congress.

"Congresswoman Kirkpatrick has dedicated decades to lifting up hard-working families in her community, from southern ranching towns to downtown Tucson. On the Appropriations Committee, she has led the charge to expand access to affordable health care and quality education for Arizonans. And now, on the Agriculture Committee, she continues to be an effective voice for family farmers and hungry families.

"The Congress looks forward to continuing to benefit from Congresswoman Kirkpatrick's leadership for the duration of the 117th Congress. We all wish her and her family the best as they prepare to begin this new chapter."
