Pelosi Statement on Deadly Tornadoes in Tennessee

Washington, D.C. – Speaker Nancy Pelosi released this statement following last night's deadly tornadoes in Nashville, Tennessee and surrounding communities that killed at least 19 people:

"Our hearts are with all the people of Nashville and Middle Tennessee impacted by last night's devastating tornadoes. As we continue to await further information, we pray for those who remain missing and offer our deepest gratitude to the heroic first responders who have worked tirelessly to protect lives and provide assistance to those in need.

"While the tornadoes' destruction has decimated homes, changed countless lives forever and torn communities apart, there is no doubt that the strength and resilience of Tennessee and its people will be essential as they recover and rebuild. These families need to know that in their hour of need, their government will be there for them without hesitation or delay."
