Pelosi Statement on GOP’s Less Coverage, Higher Costs Health Bill

"As a former Chair of the Committee on Ways and Means and the Budget Committee, the Speaker knows that the American people and Members need to know the full impact of this legislation.  Yet Republicans are rushing to hold votes before the CBO can detail the devastating consequences of their bill, both in terms of less coverage and higher costs.

"If Republicans have their way, working families, older Americans, and people with disabilities will face huge new health costs.  Families across America are going to be pushed off their health coverage just so Republicans can hand a massive tax break to the wealthy, as the Joint Committee on Taxation's report reveals.  The question is just how many millions will suffer under this assault on Americans' health care – and Republicans are clearly afraid of the answer.
