Pelosi Statement on President Trump’s Comments Regarding the Border Wall

San Francisco -- House Democratic Leader Nancy Pelosi issued this statement following President Trump's comments walking back his insistence on funding for a U.S.-Mexico border wall in an Omnibus spending package:

"The President's comments this evening are welcome news given the bipartisan opposition to the wall, and the obstacle it has been to the continuing bipartisan negotiations in the appropriations committees.  It's time for Congress to act to make it clear that government will remain open for the American people."
