Pelosi Statement on FCC Plan to Unravel Net Neutrality

"The internet must be a level playing field where success is founded on the best ideas, not the deepest pockets.  Yet once again, the Trump Administration is acting to stack the deck for the powerful special interests and against the interest of the public.

"Dismantling net neutrality will chill competition, hurt consumers, and punish entrepreneurs.  A month after allowing internet service providers to sell Americans' private browsing history and intimate personal information, the Administration is moving to destroy the openness and dynamism of the internet.

"Millions of Americans made their voices heard in support of the net neutrality standards that Chairman Pai now plans to eviscerate.  We must once again mobilize to protect the freedom of the internet from this newest threat."
