Governor Kasich on Trump and Republicans' Failed Policies

The policies put forward to date by President Trump and Congressional Republicans are so absurd, evenGOP Governor John Kasich has had enough.

When asked today at a Christian Science Monitor Breakfast about Trump's skimpytax reform plan, Kasich said:

"It's going to result in massive deficits… [Republicans] need to be careful about adding an enormous amount of increase to the national debt, because when the debt goes up, the jobs go down."

"First of all, it is full employment for lobbyists, it's the greatest thing going for them."

On the harmful impacts of Trumpcare and Republicans' failure to pass it:

"I don't know about Republicans, I guess we really are worried if rich people are doing well."

Republicans are "jamming something through that's going to take health coverage away from millions of people."

"If you involve the Democrats and say, 'What do you think?' I think you would have a bill and it would be constructive."

Governor Kasich is right.  The policy proposals put forward so far by President Trump and Republicans would drive up the deficit, abandon job growth and infrastructure, and make the wealthiest Americans even richer – all while leaving hardworking Americans out to dry. Americans deserve better.
