Pelosi Statement on Congresswoman Carolyn Bourdeaux
San Francisco – Speaker Nancy Pelosi issued this statement on the result of Georgia's Seventh Congressional District primary election:
"Congresswoman Carolyn Bourdeaux is a proven fighter for Georgia families in the House of Representatives. Our House Democratic Caucus is deeply grateful for Congresswoman Bourdeaux's leadership and will sincerely miss her voice in the House.
"On the House Small Business Committee, Congresswoman Bourdeaux played an important role in supporting small businesses with an extension of the Paycheck Protection Program in Democrats' American Rescue Plan. Her leadership on the Transportation and Infrastructure Committee helped strengthen our Bipartisan Infrastructure Law, which will improve roadways and public transit across Georgia. Knowing firsthand the burdensome cost of health care, she has fought to expand access and affordability of health care to working families.
"Congresswoman Lucy McBath is a courageous and an admired legislative leader in the Congress For The People. Her indomitable spirit in the face of adversity has inspired her colleagues in the House and mothers across our nation. House Democrats look forward to her continued public service in the Congress."
