PELOSI, DPCC & DWC: Dear Colleague on Care Economy Week of Action
Dear Democratic Colleague,
Together with President Biden, we have created more than 1.5 million jobs since he took office – the most ever created in a president's first 100 days. The economy is growing faster than at any time in the last 40 years. And more than half of U.S. adults are now vaccinated.
The American Rescue Plan is working. But, we cannot afford to miss an opportunity to Build Back Better with millions of Americans still out of work.
Parents and caregivers cannot go back to work, grow our economy and build better lives for their families unless they know their children, parents and loved ones are safe and cared for. And we know this is especially true for women who have been forced to drop out of the labor market at record rates. So, we ask you to join us for a Care Economy Week of Action, June 7-13, by hosting an event in your district.
DPCC and the Democratic Women's Caucus will provide a toolkit to help you plan your activities. Please be sure to register your events hereso we can uplift your work.
Investing in caregiving will help get Americans back to work, create good-paying jobs, raise wages, boost lifetime earnings, support small businesses, and grow our economy for all Americans.
We urge every Member to join us in holding a care economy event June 7th through the 13th. Thank you for your leadership For The People to crush the coronavirus and get our economy moving again.
Thank you for your attention to this urgent request.
Sincerely,
NANCY PELOSI
