Republican Agenda 'in Quicksand'

In less than two weeks, Congressional Republicans will leave for August recess without a single major legislative accomplishment.  Trumpcare is rapidly collapsing under ferocious pressure from Americans across the country, and the House GOP budget – which is unlikely to pass the House – would ransack American investments in jobs and stack the deck even further against working families.

With a GOP agenda "in quicksand," Republicans themselves are fuming over their party's blatant failure to govern:

"My gosh, we have the levers of government now – we have them all! And we still can't do our jobs and this is getting old … We're in some quicksand right now. We just can't seem to free ourselves." – Rep. Steve Womack (R-AR)

"I don't even pay any attention to what is going on with the administration because I don't care. They're a distraction. The family is a distraction, the president is a distraction … At first, it was 'Well yeah, this is the guy we elected. He'll learn, he'll learn.' And you just don't see that happening." – Rep. Mike Simpson (R-ID)

"I'd like to say it can't get any worse." – Rep. Mark Walker (R-NC)

We agree, it really can't get any worse.  Six months into Republican control of the House, the Senate and the White House, unified GOP control of government has been nothing but a picture of complete disarray and inaction

It's time for Republicans to ditch their failing agenda and work with Democrats to put forward legislation to improve health care, create jobs, raise wages and prevent a catastrophic default.
