Dear Democratic Colleague,

As we enter the August District Work Period, we must show the American people how Democrats are fighting For The People.

We cannot get distracted by whatever outrageous behavior is coming out of 1600 Pennsylvania Ave.

We need to cut through the noise and make ourselves heard on the issues that matter most: lowering health care costs, increasing paychecks by rebuilding America, and cleaning up corruption in Washington.

We strongly encourage all Members to hold events, both in person and through social media, to highlight Democrats' progress on the For The People agenda in August and the two weeks leading up to the August work period.

This week marks 200 days of the Democratic majority. Over the last 200 days, we have delivered transformative progress on our promises.

For The People:

Lowering health care costs: We have sent the Senate 10 bills to lower health care costs and prescription drug prices, reverse the GOP's health care sabotage, and strengthen protections for people with pre-existing conditions.

Bigger paychecks: We have passed legislation to deliver a pay raise to tens of millions of workers and to close the gender pay gap. We have passed vital investments in America's infrastructure – and there's more to come with new investments in roads, bridges, mass transit, ports, airports, schools, water systems, energy grids and broadband, which will create millions of good-paying jobs and increase paychecks for workers.

Cleaning up government: We have passed historic legislation to reduce the role of big dark money in politics, advance fair and secure elections, protect our voting systems, and restore ethics and integrity.

We know that when we are united and when everyone is involved and engaged, Democrats will prevail.

This week, we're hoping you'll join us for the 200 Days For The People Accomplishments DC-based event. Details to come. Then the following week, July 29th, we're urging all Members to host a 200 Day Accomplishments event in each of your districts.

In August we will have themed weeks around the three main pillars of the For The People agenda. We are urging every Member to hold at least one event on each week's topic:

  • August 5th: lowering health care and prescription drug prices
  • August 12th: increasing paychecks by rebuilding America
  • August 19th: cleaning up corruption in Washington

Each of your offices received messaging materials – including op-eds, talking points, and event suggestions – to help elevate and communicate our message.

Remember, it's on all of us in the Caucus – both our talented class of newly-elected Members and Members who have led the way in Washington for years – to come together and drive home a clear, concise, and compelling message during August.

We hope you will do your part to contribute to a solid, steady drumbeat across America to deliver progress For The People.

Thank you for your leadership.
