Pelosi Dear Colleague on Republicans' Use of Martial Law to Jam Through 'Skinny' Trumpcare

Dear Democratic Colleague,

House Republicans have just reported a new rule providing for martial law authority to enact Trumpcare.  This news is chilling evidence of the GOP's total contempt for the democratic process and the health care of hard-working Americans.

We now expect Senate Republicans will seek to pass Trumpcare in the dead of night and House Republicans will use martial law to jam it through the House as early as tomorrow – with no meaningful consideration, debate or conference.  Premiums will soar, plans will evaporate, and millions of families

will lose health coverage.

House Democrats stand ready to fight with every ounce of our strength to defeat Trumpcare if it emerges from the Senate.  But if any Republican Senators are counting on House Republicans to rescue them from the consequences of their votes, they and millions of hard-working Americans are in for a very rough time.

The cruelty and contempt Republicans are showing for the health care of working families boggles the mind.  Democrats must stay all hands-on-deck to strike down the monstrosity of Trumpcare once and for all.
