PELOSI, DPCC – Dear Colleague on Putting People Over Politics
Dear Democratic Colleague,
This morning, we heard an uplifting presentation on a strong Democratic message that will serve us well this year: People Over Politics. The DPCC has prepared resources to amplify this message through press releases and op-eds, on social media, and – of vital importance – local events.
We encourage you to hold events throughout the August District Work Period highlighting our work for Lower Costs, Better Paying Jobs, and Safer Communities. We also encourage you to highlight Republican efforts to criminalize women's health care decisions, end Social Security and Medicare, and attack our democracy. To sharpen this contrast between Democrats and extreme MAGA Republicans, we urge you to hold events on three Days of Action, which your constituents may wish to participate in:
- August 15: Social Security Day of Action – the 87th anniversary of Social Security, exposing extreme MAGA Republicans' plan to end Social Security and Medicare in five years
- August 26: Women's Health Day of Action – Women's Equality Day, highlighting extreme MAGA Republicans' ongoing efforts to criminalize women's health care
- September 7: Gun Violence Prevention Day of Action – coinciding with the return to school, contrasting extreme MAGA Republicans' opposition to basic steps to keep guns out of the hands of dangerous people with Democrats commitment to Safer Communities for all
Please register your events and share your press clipsso we can share and promote your good work. We also encourage you to post about your event on social media using #PeopleOverPolitics.
Again, we call your attention to the District Work Period materials that the DPCC has distributed. Additional materials to accompany the Days of Action will be forthcoming from the DPCC.
Thank you for your leadership in putting People Over Politics.
Sincerely,
NANCY PELOSI
