Pelosi Statement on Legislation to Permanently Reauthorize the 9/11 Victim Compensation Fund Becoming Law

Washington, D.C. – Speaker Nancy Pelosi released this statement after legislation to permanently reauthorize the 9/11 Victim Compensation Fund was signed into law:

"Today represents a hard-fought victory for the heroes of 9/11 and their families. The permanent reauthorization signed into law is a credit to Congresswoman Carolyn Maloney, Chairman Jerry Nadler, and the Members and advocates who have fought relentlessly to take this step to provide the financial security and support that 9/11 heroes, survivors and families deserve.

"Our nation can never forget the sacrifice of James Zadroga, Ray Pfeifer, Luis Alvarez and all our 9/11 heroes. Today and every day, we owe our enduring appreciation and unfailing support to all who sacrificed to keep us safe."
