Trump in Montana, What You Should Know
July 5, 2018
This afternoon, President Trump is holding a campaign rally in Great Falls, Montana and he is expected to talk about immigration, the Supreme Court, and the GOP tax scam for the rich. It is sure to be a wild ride in Big Sky Country.
Below are some of the cruel consequences of the Trump-Republican agenda for Montanans:
- Nearly $20 million: Total Montana state exports threatened by new tariffs thanks to the President's burgeoning trade war.
- 426,000: Montanans who have pre-existing conditions currently protected by law that are jeopardized by the Trump Administration's demand that the courts to strike down protections for pre-existing conditions.
- 79,700: Montanans that would have lost health coverage by 2026 under the GOP House-passed Trumpcare bill.
- 25,800: Montanans with Medicaid would have lost health coverage under Trumpcare.
- 16,956: Montana workers would have lost their jobs by 2022 under Trumpcare.
- 1,100: Veterans in Montana that would have lost their Medicaid coverage under Trumpcare.
- $17,060: More for premiums Montanans could pay for coverage if they are pregnant under Trumpcare.
- $140,510: More for premiums Montanans could pay for coverage if they have metastatic cancer under Trumpcare.
- $12,146: More older Montanans would have to pay because Trumpcare would allow insurers to charge people over age 50 five times more.
From health care, to taxes, to good-paying jobs, to critical consumer protections President Trump and the GOP Congress are giving the American people a raw deal.
Families in Montana and in every corner of the country deserve better. That's why Democrats are fighting for A Better Deal: Better Jobs, Better Wages, and a Better Future for everyone.
