Pelosi Statement on Congressman Mondaire Jones

San Francisco – Speaker Nancy Pelosi issued this statement on the result of New York's 10th Congressional District primary election:

"Congressman Mondaire Jones is a respected progressive voice on Capitol Hill and a relentless fighter for working families. House Democrats are grateful to Congressman Jones for his leadership, which is leaving a principled legacy during his short period of time in Congress.

"In the House, Congressman Jones is a leader among his colleagues: unanimously elected Freshman Representative to Leadership and serving as Co-Chair of the LGBTQ Equality Caucus. He is a respected Member on the Education and Labor Committee and on the Judiciary Committee, where he has worked to support working families and strengthen our Democracy.
