Pelosi Statement on Senator McCain Opposing Graham-Cassidy

Washington, D.C. — Democratic Leader Nancy Pelosi released the following statement after Senator John McCain announced that he will vote ‘no' on the Graham-Cassidy Trumpcare bill:

"Once again, John McCain has demonstrated his courage on behalf of the American people.  Hopefully now the Senate's bipartisan Alexander-Murray conversations can proceed.  I call upon Speaker Ryan to now initiate a bipartisan effort in the House to improve and update the Affordable Care Act.

"Senator McCain's announcement is good news for America's families, who have made their voices heard against Trumpcare and for bipartisan cooperation.  We thank them and Senator McCain for their strength and determination."
