Trump in North and South Dakota, What You Should Know

Blog Post
Today, President Trump goes to North and South Dakota.

He will attend fundraisers and meet with supporters, but we know what he won't do: address the real issues facing hard-working North and South Dakota families.  Not to mention the ongoing GOP's contentious court battle to attack health care coverage for 130 million Americans with pre-existing conditions, which could strip health coverage away from hundreds of thousands of people in North and South Dakota.

The Deflector-in-Chief may try, but the cruel consequences of the Trump-Republican agenda for Americans in the very states he visits cannot be ignored:

  • 316,000: North Dakotans who have pre-existing conditions currently protected by law that are jeopardized by the Trump Administration's demand that the courts to strike down protections for pre-existing conditions.

  • 30,100: North Dakotans that would have lost health coverage by 2026 under the GOP House-passed Trumpcare bill.
  • 11,400: North Dakotans with Medicaid would have lost health coverage under Trumpcare.
  • 4,151: North Dakota workers would have lost their jobs by 2022 under Trumpcare.
  • 300: Veterans in North Dakota that would have lost their Medicaid coverage under Trumpcare.
  • $3,140: More for premiums a family of four in North Dakota could pay for coverage due to GOP's ACA sabotage.
  • $17,060: More for premiums North Dakotans could pay for coverage if they are pregnant under Trumpcare.
  • $140,510: More for premiums North Dakotans could pay for coverage if they have metastatic cancer under Trumpcare.
  • $7,992: More older North Dakotans would have to pay because Trumpcare would allow insurers to charge people over age 50 five times more.

  • 352,500: South Dakotans who have pre-existing conditions currently protected by law that are jeopardized by the Trump Administration's demand that the courts to strike down protections for pre-existing conditions.
  • 66,100: South Dakotans that would have lost health coverage by 2026 under the GOP House-passed Trumpcare bill.
  • 37,300: South Dakotans with Medicaid would have lost health coverage under Trumpcare.
  • 1,128: South Dakota workers would have lost their jobs by 2022 under Trumpcare.
  • 1,700: Veterans in South Dakota that would have lost their Medicaid coverage under Trumpcare.
  • $4,590: More for premiums a family of four in South Dakota could pay for coverage due to GOP's ACA sabotage.
  • $17,060: More for premiums South Dakotans could pay for coverage if they are pregnant under Trumpcare.
  • $140,510: More for premiums South Dakotans could pay for coverage if they have metastatic cancer under Trumpcare.
  • $11,833: More older South Dakotans would have to pay because Trumpcare would allow insurers to charge people over age 50 five times more.

NORTH DAKOTASOUTH DAKOTA

Across the board, President Trump and the GOP Congress are giving the American people a raw deal.  Families in North and South Dakota and in every corner of the country deserve better.  That's why Democrats are fighting for the people.
