America Knows the Truth About the Benghazi Committee

The Republican Majority Leader admitted that the Benghazi Select Committee is a taxpayer-funded political smear campaign.  So too have Members of the House Republican Conference.  A former Republican staffer of the Committee has acknowledged the same.

The American people have been listening, and they see the truth about the Benghazi Select Committee – that it represents nothing more than House Republicans playing politics with taxpayer money.  New polling data reveals just how bad it's gotten for the House GOP.

By wide margins, Americans believe that:

• Republicans created the committee for political purposes – not to pursue the truth;

• The $4.7 million spent by the GOP on the Benghazi committee has been a "waste of taxpayer money;" and

• Republicans cannot be trusted to conduct a fair investigation.

The numbers don't lie.  The American people have listened to House Republicans, who have finally admitted the disturbing truth about the Benghazi Committee.  Now it's time for Republicans to start listening to the American people – and stop playing politics with taxpayer money.
