Conservative Voters: Time is Now for Immigration Reform

Blog Post

This week, on top of the overwhelming majority of Americans who want Congress to reform our immigration system, a new poll revealed that 71 percent of conservative Republican voters demand Congress to take action on CIR.  Speaker Boehner and the House Republican Conference, however, continue to backtrack and stall.  House Republicans, it's been:

  • Almost two years since your Speaker said we would take care of comprehensive immigration reform;
  • Over 320 days since the Senate passed bipartisan comprehensive immigration reform;
  • Over 220 days since House Democrats introduced bipartisan legislation, H.R. 15;
  • Over 100 days since Speaker Boehner introduced his "immigration standards" – only to walk away from them moments after; and
  • Almost two months since House Democrats introduced the #DemandAVote discharge petition.

When will you act and demonstrate leadership to fix the broken immigration system in a bipartisan and commonsense manner?
