'Dangerous'

Rather than vote on meaningful gun violence prevention legislation to keep the American people safe, House Republicans are leading yet another "investigation" – this time into House Democrats' historic sit-in on the House Floor.  Because House Republicans say the sit-in was "dangerous."

That's correct: House Republicans think it was dangerous for John Lewis and House Democrats to lead an historic effort to pass gun violence prevention measures that will save lives.

But here's what's really dangerous:

It's dangerouswhen House Republicans vote 19 times – and counting – to protect the ability of suspected terrorists to purchase deadly weapons.

It's dangerous when House Republicans block bipartisan, strengthened background checks to keep guns out of the wrong hands, as 91 people a day are killed by a gun.

It's dangerous when House Republicans have a Conference so extreme, untethered and out of touch that they can't even muster a vote on a "sham" bill written by the NRA.

It's dangerous when House Republicans – 220 strong – welcome to the Capitol their standard bearer Donald Trump, ready to hand over the nuclear codes to a man who explodes at the slightest provocation.

Yes, House Republicans: there are dangerous things happening in the Capitol.
