Speaker Boehner – if you won't listen to the American people, will you listen to your fellow Republicans? You still have time to stop the Republican Government Shutdown…

Rep. Charlie Dent (R-PA)

"I'm prepared to vote for a clean resolution tomorrow," Mr. Dent said. "It's time to govern. I don't intend to support a fool's errand at this point."

Rep. Peter King (R-NY):

"‘Listen, I'm not going to let the government shut down,' said Representative Peter T. King, Republican of New York. ‘I don't want to be undercutting Boehner, but put it this way: I will not let the government shut down.'"

Rep. Tom Cole (R-OK):

"Rep. Tom Cole (R-Okla.), deputy whip of the House, told reporters after the meeting that House Speaker John Boehner (R-Ohio) could still pass a clean continuing resolution. ‘He didn't mention it, but I'm sure he could if he wanted to,' Cole said."

Rep. Chris Gibson (R-NY):

"From my perspective, the desired end state remains the same — a delay of the Affordable Care Act/Obamacare and a temporary lifting of the sequester — both to January 2015,'' Gibson said in a statement posted on his Facebook page. "However, we need a successful strategy to get that implemented, and this approach will not do it."

Rep. Tom Rooney (R-FL):

"The shutdown doesn't do anything to help our reputation as an incompetent Congress," he said. "People hire us not to get to this point in the first place."

Gov. Robert Bentley (R-AL):

"I don't believe we need to shut down government," Bentley said. "I'm not being critical of our congressmen. I know they are trying to take a stand. But we don't need to turn the tide of public opinion against us."

Gov. Rick Snyder (R-MI):

"…the concept of shutting down our government or defaulting on debt is just something that should be unacceptable. And it shouldn't be because people are yelling and screaming at each other."
