GOP 'Eight Or Nine Ideas' vs. Comprehensive Health Reform

As the House moves forward with the Affordable Health Care for America Act -- comprehensive health insurance reform to protect consumers, hold insurance companies accountable, rein in health care costs, reduce the deficit, and cover 36 million uninsured Americans -- Americans are still waiting for Congressional Republicans to offer more than just obstructionism. It has been 139 days since Congressional Republicans promised they would release comprehensive health care reform legislation -- and still nothing.

On Sunday, House Republican Leader John Boehner announced Congressional Republicans will offer "eight or nine ideas."

On Sunday, House Republican Leader John Boehner admitted that Republicans do not have a comprehensive bill but rather a mix of 'eight or nine ideas' folded into a bill.

House Republican Leader John Boehner admitted that the GOP 'ideas' will just continue the current, broken system:

What we do is we try to make the current system work better... We do not attempt to cover 46 million more Americans...

When pressed further, Mr. Boehner was unable to say just how many people would be covered by the Republican 'ideas.'
