Club for Growth and Heritage Action, this morning, sent a letter to House Republican Majority Leader Kevin McCarthy urging him to terminate the Export-Import Bank endangering hundreds of thousands of American jobs:

On behalf of our respective organizations, we hope you will stand strong and work with conservatives in Congress and across the country in letting the bank expire.

As the new Majority Leader of the House, now is the time for you to provide leadership to the Republican conference…

…Leader McCarthy, if you can't start with the Export-Import Bank, then how can Americans trust the Republican Party to tackle the big challenges our nation faces…?

Should Leader McCarthy listen to these groups, it would jeopardize 205,000 American jobs.  It's no wonder a group of 37 governors, including 15 Republicans, 41 GOP lawmakers, and 865 business organizations have called for the Bank's immediate renewal and extension, highlighting the many benefits it provides for the American people.  In fact, House Democrats have legislation to reauthorize the bank.

As Reuters reports, the Export-Import Bank "supports middle-class jobs and keeps American manufacturing competitive with other countries."  [9/5/14].  It's time for Leader McCarthy to ignore these far-right, obstructive groups who playeda major role in the Republican Government Shutdown of 2013 and join Democrats in working on behalf of Americans and the middle-class.
