House GOP and Their Go-To List of Conservative Economists Out of Touch with American People

Today Speaker Boehner rolled out the GOP's 'Protect Billionaires and Big Oil' go-to list of conservative economists in an attempt to paper over their failure to offer a jobs agenda after 308 days of being in the majority. But the Republicans' insistence on their special interest agenda – the "Faux 15" and then some – is out of sync with the priorities of the American people:

From a new National Journal poll:

68 percent of Americans say it is "very important" Congress reach agreement on new federal spending to create jobs by rehabilitating public schools, improving roads and public transit, and preventing layoffs of teachers, police officers and other first responders. [11/7]

58 percent of Americans say it is "very important" for Congress to agree to a balanced approach – spending cuts and raising revenue on the wealthiest few – to reduce the federal deficit.

It's time for the GOP to stop stalling, focus on jobs and work with Democrats to strengthen our economy – it's what the American people want.
