The House has passed the Iraq Accountability Act, 221-205.

Appropriations Defense Subcommittee Chairman John Murtha closed debate:

Rep. Murtha:

"I have seen young people that came back from Iraq that are having a hard time adjusting, and they weren't in the heaviest contact. The psychologists that came before the committee said to me, three months in this situation is a long time. Three months they start getting post-traumatic stress. Predictions are we'll have 65,000 Americans, not Iraqis, Americans, that are going to have post-traumatic stress. You wonder why we want to bring this to an end?"
