House Republican Men Threaten #GOPshutdown

The GOP-led Congress is back and up to the same partisan political games. Today, 28 Republican men threatened to hold the Government hostage unless Speaker Boehner and the GOP leadership defund Planned Parenthood and the essential services they provide to millions of women across the country:

…we must act to fully defund Planned Parenthood.  Please know that we cannot and will not support any funding resolution – an appropriations bill, an omnibus package, a continuing resolution, or otherwise – that contains any funding for Planned Parenthood, including mandatory funding streams.  [9/8]

With just 11 legislative days to act, the media is questioning whether Speaker Boehner and the GOP will shut down the government again:

Bottom line: Back in 2013, House GOP Members sent the Republican leadership a letter encouraging them to defund the Affordable Care Act.  As Americans know and The Hill reminds us again today: ‘That led to a 16-day government shutdown that October.'  Speaker Boehner, trust us when we say this: the United States cannot afford another perilous #GOPshutdown that disrupts the lives of American workers, families and businesses.
