If it's #GroundhogDay Under House GOP, it's Time to Attack Health Care of Women & Hard-Working Families

It's Groundhog Day – and Speaker Ryan and House Republicans are, once more, voting to repeal, undermine and/or dismantle Americans' affordable health care coverage and to assault the health care of women.

We've seen this movie before, and it's a lot less funny with Republicans playing Bill Murray.  The Republican Groundhog Day attempt to override the President's veto of their radical reconciliation bill:

  • Targets the coverage of nearly 18 million previously uninsured Americans who now have quality coverage due to the Affordable Care Act;
  • Assaults 129 million Americans with pre-existing conditions who no longer have to worry about being denied coverage due to their health status;
  • Harms the 76 million Americans in private plans who have received new or expanded access to free preventive services, due to ACA;
  • Defunds Planned Parenthood, leaving millions of American women without key preventive health services – including life-saving cancer screenings, well-woman exams, birth control and advice on family planning.

House Republicans will have voted for the 63rd time to repeal or undermine the Affordable Care Act, and for the 12th time to attack women's health care in the 114th Congress alone.  Speaker Ryan: wasting taxpayer money on a radical agenda filled with toxic attacks is not something the American people can afford.
