More of Republicans' Reckless Hypocrisy

Speaker Boehner and GOP Leaders earlier today passed more reckless and staggering unpaid-for tax measures, targeted mostly at the ultra-wealthy.  How is Speaker Boehner framing the hypocritical stunt?

"These are common-sense bills that make the tax code…fairer for hardworking families."

In the first 100 days of this GOP Congress, Republicans have already reported to the Floor nearly $600 billion in deficit-busting tax measures, skewed to the wealthy.  Under the estate tax repeal passed today by Republicans, the bill only serves to protect the ultra-wealthy 0.2 percent of Americans.  No one's fooled.  It is a shameless effort that exclusively benefits the wealthiest of the wealthiest in our country: 5,400 households, while adding $269 billion to our nation's deficit – bringing a total of $311.4 billion in unpaid-for tax measures passed this week alone.

President Obama already declared that he would veto this irresponsible tax giveaway.  Just when will Republicans join House Democrats to champion common sense policies that will help low-income and middle class hard-working families?  Perhaps Washington Post' Dana Milbank said it best:

Never in the history of plutocracy has so much been given away to so few who need it so little.
