New Poll: Americans Hold Negative Views of The GOP Congress!

Speaker Boehner, Leader McCarthy and the House Republican Conference may boast and celebrate the passage of their special interest measures in the 114th Congress, but they should reevaluate these so-called accomplishments because a new Pew Research Center poll released yesterday has some news for them:

The new Republican-led Congress is drawing harsh reviews from the public – including most Republicans.  Just 23% of Americans say congressional Republicans are keeping the promises…while 65% say they are not.

Nearly four-in-ten (37%) say the new Congress has accomplished less than they expected…

The new national survey by the Pew Research Center…finds that just 22% approve of the job performance of Republican congressional leaders…

…Republican ratings of their own party's leadership have moved in a significantly negative direction over the first few months of a GOP-controlled Congress.

Today, more Republicans say they disapprove (55%)…of the Republican congressional leadership's job performance.

This would all change if Speaker Boehner and GOP leaders provided long-term certainty on the Highway Trust Fund, dropped their callous ‘Work Harder for Less' budget, and renewed the job-creating Export-Import Bank for a start!
