New Poll: Americans 'Unhappy with' Do-Nothing GOP Congress

Speaker Boehner and House Republicans are, again, wasting time this week and using the remaining few legislative days to advance their tendentious agenda by bundling and re-passing 29 bills that have previously passed the House.

From Bloomberg:

House Republican leaders plan a vote on another package of previously approved House bills aimed at reducing environmental regulations to spur energy development, such as the construction of the Keystone XL pipeline and giving states authority over natural-gas fracking.

They've also scheduled a vote on a package of economic policy bills, previously passed by the House, that they contend would stimulate the economy and create jobs through tax breaks or reduced government regulation.

From The Hill:

The House will take up a consolidated package of 15 so-called jobs...Such measures include renewing expired tax breaks and repealing the mandate that all employers with 50 or more workers provide health insurance…Additionally, the House will consider a package of 14 bills ithas already passed

From the National Journal:

…the House will revive several previously passed bills on energy issues in a messaging bid to send what Majority Leader Kevin McCarthy called a "single, common-sense energy plan" to the Senate. So, too, will the House pick up its messaging on jobs, including action on the Jobs for America Act.

And, as former Republican Senator from New Hampshire John Sununu said:

The House also plans to take up two bills addressing job creation and energy. Under normal circumstances, these would qualify as topics important to the economy at large. But this legislation — comprised of several previously passed items — has zero chance of passing the Senate and reaching the president's desk. This, in the political trade, is what is politely called "messaging."

It's no wonder that:

72 Percent Of Americans Disapprove Of Republicans In Congress

…they are unhappy with Republicans…Republicans' approval rating has been terrible for years… [9/14/14]

Mr. Boehner, are you listening?  This could all immediately change if your Party worked with Democrats to build roads and bridges paid for by closing tax loopholes for companies that ship jobs overseas, provide paid sick leave and equal pay for equal work, and make education more affordable.  It's time to get serious and jumpstart the middle class.
