Only One Person Standing in Way of Comprehensive Immigration Reform

This morning, Speaker Boehner had this to say about immigration reform:

"There's nobody more interested in fixing this problem than I am." [5/22]

But the truth is, the American people are growing tired of talk. Univision's Jorge Ramos asked the obvious question today:

"Why are you blocking immigration reform?" I asked @SpeakerBoehner "Me?" He said. "Yes, you" I told him @ThisIsFusion pic.twitter.com/s90DFjgJUm [5/22]

Mr. Speaker, nearly 330 days that have gone by since the Senate passed bipartisan, comprehensive immigration reform; over 220 days have passed since House Democrats introduced bipartisan legislation, H.R. 15; and over 100 days have passed since you and your Conference introduced the abandoned "immigration standards."

There is only one person standing in the way of making progress, and that is you, Mr. Speaker. If "fixing this problem" is your alleged mission, then bring up H.R. 15, bipartisan comprehensive immigration reform and witness its passage on the House floor. It's time for you and Leader Cantor to remove the gavel from Rep. Steve King, end your worn-out excuses, listen to the overwhelming number of Americans – including conservative voters – who time and again have called on Congress to act on commonsense CIR, and do what the American people expect its Representatives to do: work in a bipartisan manner to fix what is a broken immigration system.
