Pelosi Announces Departure of Floor Director Jerry Hartz

Washington, D.C. – Today, Democratic Leader Nancy Pelosi announced the departure of long-time Senior Advisor and Director of Floor Legislative Operations Jerry Hartz, who departs the Hill on September 11th after 28 years of service in the House of Representatives for a new position at the National Democratic Institute.
"For more than 13 years, Jerry Hartz's insight of parliamentary and legislative procedure has been an invaluable asset to my office and the Democratic Caucus," said Leader Pelosi. "Jerry has helped to shape and advance the Democratic agenda on the floor of the House for the better part of three decades. I thank Jerry for his outstanding service to the Congress, and I wish him all the best in his new endeavors."
Hartz has worked in the House of Representatives since joining the Democratic Whip staff in 1987 with a focus on the Rules Committee and floor procedure. Before joining Leader Pelosi's staff, Hartz was the Director of Policy and Whip Operations under former Congressman David Bonior of Michigan.
