Pelosi Announces New Committee Memberships
Washington, D.C. - Democratic Leader Nancy Pelosi announced today that the full Democratic Caucus has approved two new committee memberships. Congresswoman Kathy Hochul of New York has been appointed to the House Armed Services Committee. Congresswoman Janice Hahn has been appointed to the House Committee on Homeland Security.
"Congresswoman Kathy Hochul has already proven herself to be a leader in the Congress; her appointment to the House Armed Services Committee will allow her to be an effective advocate for our men and women in uniform. With appreciation for the service and sacrifice of our troops, she will work to ensure they have everything they need to do their jobs and return home safely.
"Our newest colleague, Congresswoman Janice Hahn, brings to the House a strong commitment to work on the number one responsibility of elected officials: to protect the American people. On the Homeland Security Committee, she will be a strong, independent, and effective voice on behalf of the safety of our nation's families and communities."
