Pelosi Announces New Deputy Director of Floor Operations

September 7, 2011

Washington, D.C. - Democratic Leader Nancy Pelosi announced today that she has named Lori J. Pepper as her new Deputy Director of Floor Operations.  Pepper currently serves as Leader Pelosi's Policy Advisor for agriculture, veterans, education, and small business issues and as her liaison to the Blue Dog Coalition and New Democrat Coalition.  Pepper began her new duties today and will continue her Member services roles with the Blue Dogs and New Democrats.

"Over the past year, Lori's hard work and talent have been invaluable on my staff, and I am proud that she will serve as Deputy Director of Floor Operations," Pelosi said.  "In this new position, she will continue to work with members of the Blue Dog Coalition, New Democrat Coalition, and the entire Democratic Caucus to create jobs, grow our economy and responsibly reduce the deficit."

Pepper previously served as Director of Policy and Outreach for the Committee on Science and Technology for Chairman Bart Gordon of Tennessee and as Deputy Chief of Staff to Congressman Baron Hill of Indiana.

Pepper holds a bachelor's degree in Psychology from the University of Maryland.

Pepper replaces Catlin O'Neill, who begins her duties as Chief of Staff in Leader Pelosi's Congressional office this month.
