Pelosi, Israel Announce Members of House Democrats’ New Policy & Communications Committee

January 13, 2015
Washington, D.C. – Democratic Leader Nancy Pelosi and Congressman Steve Israel announced today the members of the House Democratic Policy and Communications Committee, which will be chaired by Israel.  The committee will be tasked with developing a Caucus-wide message that forcefully communicates where House Democrats stand, that resonates with hardworking Americans, and that presents a sharp contrast to House Republicans' special interest-first agenda.

"In this new Congress, we have a fresh opportunity to ensure that House Democrats are effectively communicating our commitment to standing up for wages and workers in America.  The members of the Policy and Communications Committee have consistently shown the wisdom, creativity and vision necessary to make our case to the American people – and to expose the special interest priorities of House Republicans," said Leader Pelosi.  "Under the leadership and resolve of Chairman Steve Israel, the Policy and Communications Committee will ensure that House Democrats have a message of clarity, consistency and strength."

"House Democrats will continue to stand up for wages and workers in America, but we must be more effective and united in communicating this to the American people.  That's the goal of the House Democratic Policy and Communications Committee, and I look forward to working with my team to develop bold messages that will deeply resonate and show the contrast between our agenda and that of House Republicans," said Congressman Israel.
