Pelosi Names Robert V. Fischer, Jr. New Manager of Democratic Cloakroom
Washington, D.C. – Today, House Democratic Leader Nancy Pelosi announced she has named Robert V. Fischer, Jr. as the new Manager of the Democratic Cloakroom, replacing long-time Democratic Cloakroom head Barry Sullivan who retired last month.
"For over two decades, Bob Fischer has been an invaluable asset to the Members of the Democratic Caucus," said Leader Pelosi. "He has always been a knowledgeable and dependable hand in our Cloakroom, and it is my great pleasure to be able to elevate him to this new position."
Fischer has served as Assistant Manager of the House Democratic Cloakroom ever since his appointment by Speaker Thomas S. Foley in 1993. Previously, he served in the Office of the House Sergeant at Arms and the Office of the Doorkeeper.
Fischer serves as a volunteer for the supervisory committee of the Congressional Federal Credit Union, and is a supporter and participant in the annual Congressional Hockey Challenge.
A native of Buffalo, New York, Fischer holds a Bachelor's Degree in English from SUNY Geneseo. He and his wife Julie have three children: Rob, Christy, and Emily.
