Pelosi Spokesman Statement on Speaker Boehner's Appearance on ABC's This Week
September 28, 2014
Washington, D.C. – Drew Hammill, spokesman for Democratic Leader Nancy Pelosi, released this statement following Speaker John Boehner's appearance on ABC's This Week with George Stephanopoulos:
"Speaker Boehner's excuse-laden defense of House Republicans' record is laughable. The truth is that Speaker Boehner has presided over the two most unproductive sessions of Congress in history and intense internal party dysfunction that has driven Americans' disapproval of Congress to record lows.
"Adding insult to injury, earlier this month, Speaker Boehner's part-time House made the earliest departure from Congress to the campaign trail in 54 years. While he continues to advocate policies that stack the deck for the wealthy and special interests, House Democrats will continue to fight to jumpstart the middle class in our efforts to build an economy that works for me everyone, not just the privileged few."
